INSPIRED BY THE STARS - INTRODUCING THE NEW SCORPIUS CAPSULE COLLECTION
Introducing Scorpius, Mani Jassal’s newest capsule collection. Named after the Scorpius constellation—located in the southern hemisphere and comprised of some of the brightest stars in the sky—this is the designer’s most personal collection yet. A nod to her zodiac sign, Scorpio and a celebration of her own journey as a soon-to-be bride.
No stranger to dressing brides, Mani Jassal steps into the spotlight with a capsule collection that revisits bridalwear from a personal perspective. The thoughtfully curated pieces offer a medley of separates that combine traditional handiwork with modern flourishes in Mani’s signature silhouette.
Each piece, meticulously hand-crafted using traditional Indian embroidery techniques, can be worn together or as separates to help each bride create her own unique look. From the skirt to the blouse and dupatta, different embroideries, fabrics and crystal-inspired colours let the bride tell her story.
Choose from six hues: Show your passion in fiery Ruby, catch the light in golden Amber or embrace a pure, all-white palette in MoonStone. And pick the blouse that best expresses you: modern minimalist, ultra-feminine and delicately detailed, playful and flirty or bold and sexy.
For the campaign, Mani Jassal went from working behind-the-scenes to modeling the collection in front of the camera. She chose the bedroom as the backdrop, using the intimate setting to show glimpses of the bride getting ready and capture the private, joyful and reflective moments leading up to the big day.
To bring the setting to life, she teamed up with The Eastern Bazaar, creating an all-white oasis with natural, textured elements. “The overall vision for the shoot was to be transported to a mystical, dreamy bedroom,” says Payal Bhakta, founder of the online lifestyle boutique.
“Filled with crystals and natural elements from the earth, it allowed us to speak magic [of the clothes]. It spoke to the mystical properties of the crystals and the universal language of the cosmos.”
Mani shows off seven looks, each one uniquely accessorized and styled by stylist Kaashni Brar and complemented by different hair and makeup.
Smokey eyes, glossy pink lips and softly contoured cheeks pair with hairstyles that range from a traditional “Parandi” braid crowned with an embellished headpiece, straight and sleek strands, and voluminous waves with a half-up top knot.
