The Diwali Edit

This year we bring to you The Diwali Edit.
Diwali has always been Mani’s favourite Indian holiday to celebrate. She grew up watching the sky shine bright and light up fireworks with her family in India. That’s when Mani’s obsession with fireworks started. The entire family would get together and celebrate following a grand feast.
However when Mani and her family moved to Canada, Diwali had changed, there was no longer the extravagant celebrations Mani grew up watching. Mani always wanted to do a Diwali themed party where she’d get dressed up in a lengha and take pretty pictures with divas / candles. This year, Mani made this happen and organised a Diwali shoot.
Mani’s vision behind the shoot was it to be extravagant, opulent and eclectic. Mani wanted to elevate the concept of Diwali by using Chandeliers and candles along with eclectic rugs and a beautiful Indian fresco back drop. The inspiration behind the shoot was Sanjay Leela Bhansali film backdrops. Mani worked with some amazing vendors making this dream shoot and vision come alive.
Anil from Soiree Events, helped accessorize the set with even more elaborate chandeliers, and 100 + candles. Designer Dance Floors printed the beautiful back drop that Mani had found. The same rugs from the Engagement / Tulum Shoot to add to eclectic vibe. Paras from Paras Events provided his beautiful furniture for the models to take “maharani-esque” photos on.
For the actual looks, Mani wanted to stay true to the MKJ brand and do more mix and match looks with current and new collections, to show how versatile the pieces can be.
