In this new series, we bring to you a curation of looks that are the epitome of a Mani Jassal bride! Let this be your inspiration board for all your different wedding festivities, whether it be styling tips, venue ideas, or vendor recommendations… and of course the look!
Retro Romantics - Gentle, earthy, and grounded, these brides sometimes wish they were born in the era of times passed. They dream of being a nomad, getting lost in an art museum and taking in the smell of their favourite book under a tree. Soft neutrals and muted hues are part of their forever-aesthetic, especially their wedding. If you love vintage details in this modern world, our BRIDGETTE SHARARA set is your perfect outfit for the big day!
A modern take on the vintage lace dresses, the cream coloured dotted fabric is as sheer as lingerie but soft to the touch. Even the silhouette is an ode to the 70’s and 80’s, where many north Indian and Pakistani brides donned the Sharara or Punjabi suit for their wedding day.
“I introduced the Bridgette look in the Unleashed collection as an alternative Sharara look. It was a take on the traditional Punjabi silhouette, but made a little bit more fun, and something that you could wear non traditionally. Instead of a traditional kameez, I did a baby doll style bustier, and then added a pair of gloves with it to just give it an extra edge. I just loved how the fabrics fell and I thought a pleated Sharara would be perfect for this.”
Perfect for a civil ceremony, the light and airy fabric gives the bride enough room to breathe through the wedding jitters. The silhouette of the sharara gives brides the freedom to dance around their loved ones and fully celebrate their greatest love.
We still want you to make a statement on your wedding day…
Finishing Touches
Elevate the look with a dramatic flair of an oversized bow in your hair with small tendrils that fall on your face to keep the ease in the updo. You could also style your hair with some pin curls for a classical retro ‘do, however finger comb them out for a modernized tousled finish. Add a flower crown as your hair accessory with fresh flowers matching those in your bouquet for a free-spirited finish to the outfit, romantic bohemian vibe. If that's not enough drama, add an extra long veil or dupatta to make your wedding straight out of a retro dream.
Keep the make up natural and glowy with a perfected “no-makeup makeup” look consisting of fresh skin, flushed cheeks and a softly defined lash line to emphasize your eyes. Top it off with a lipstick colour that is a “your lips but better” shade, or just a buttery soft tinted lip balm to enhance your natural lip colour.
Opt for baby’s breath for your bouquet to keep it simple and cohesive with the theme. We know you love keeping tokens from your favourite memories. Frame the baby’s breath from your bouquet, once they’re dried, to remember your big day forever!
Setting the Stage
Make your wedding feel like it’s set in a Rococo painting. Soft decor, pastel colours and gold accents as well as florals will take you right back to the 18th century. Make your dream of living in the past a reality when you are running around in your extra long veil in a castle or a historic landmark like Casa Loma.
If you have your mind set on an outdoor wedding, go to the countryside where you feel grounded and at peace. The bride in a monochromatic pastel outfit will definitely stand out in the vast greenery that the countryside has to offer. Candlelit dinner with your closest people in the middle of a field is exactly what you need to put the cherry on top for this wedding.
The Entourage
Make your wedding ethereal by sticking with the pastels for your bridal and groom parties. Go with light greens like sage, mint or even light blue.
The soft, grounded, and romantic wedding that you dreamed of is finally coming true! Match with your partner in beige, bringing in all your loved ones as well the colour scheme of your wedding together while standing out in the midst of all the chaos.
& I Keep Hitting Rep-p-p-peat
Don’t put this stunning outfit in the back of your closet after your wedding! Wear it as a dress in the summer with some biker shorts and knee high boots (giving Arianna Grande) or pair the sharara pants with a crop top for a more casual look. Going to an event? Pair the BabyDoll Bustier with a lehenga or a skirt and dress it up with jewelry.
