Calling all MKJ brides: here’s your next bridal beauty inspiration. A wedding outfit with intricate embroidery and heavy jewellery doesn’t mean that your makeup has to take a backseat on your big day.

You can still make a statement without opting for a bold beauty look. There’s a quiet strength in the MKJ bride, who’s never too perfectly done up and always comfortable in her own skin. “Most designers have a distinct hair and beauty look. I wanted one as well, and after four years of doing this, I have sort of figured out what the Mani Jassal bridal look is — something that’s effortless, and not overly put-together,” says designer Mani Jassal.
When it comes to hair, it’s all about a soft, undone updo. Hair that’s swept back into a low chignon shows off layered statement necklaces, while tousled, face-framing tendrils add a romantic touch. The center part also creates perfect placement for a bejewelled tikka.

Similarly, the makeup strikes a balance between natural and glamorous. It’s all about radiant skin and soft, flushed cheeks rather than heavy bronzer or contouring. Smoky eyes get a modern update in a chocolate hue and dewy finish. Strong brows that are defined and filled in anchor the beauty look. Glossy lips in a soft pink shade complement but never compete with the rest of the makeup or your outfit. It’s a bridal beauty look that enhances your natural beauty and lets you shine.
